L’objectif have announced a new EP, ‘We Aren’t Getting Out But Tonight We Might’

Check out new track 'Get Close' ahead of its June release.

Fast-rising Leeds quartet L’objectif have announced the details for their new EP ‘We Aren’t Getting Out But Tonight We Might’, set for release on 3 June via Chess Club Records.

The news comes alongside a new track, ‘Get Close’, which follows up on lead single ‘Same Thing’, which dropped last month.

Frontman Saul Kane explains: “It’s a love song probably or at least a song about intimacy. I kind of liked the idea of writing about having a borderline existential crisis but then thinking “forget that” and just focusing on wanting to be with someone. All the thoughts going round your head can sometimes overwhelm the senses and make you panic but I just imagined how they can all be put to the side in the pursuit of a person. I mean the title ‘Get Close’ is what it’s about really, wanting to get close to someone and the rest can wait.”

‘We Aren’t Getting Out But Tonight We Might’ follows on from last year’s debut EP ‘Have It Your Way’. The track listing reads:

1. Same Thing
2. Get Close
3. Feeling Down
4. To Be Honest
5. Thought It Was Real

The band are also embarking on a run of live dates including their own headline shows and supporting Everything Everything at their Leeds and London shows. They’ll play their biggest hometown headline show to date at Brudenell Social Club on 9th July, as well as The Great Escape and Live At Leeds festivals.
