Lola Young has announced a hiatus from her music career to focus on personal issues. The decision follows an incident where Young collapsed onstage during her performance at the All Things Go NYC Music Festival, after completing just five songs.

The singer took to Instagram to inform her followers of the break, stating, “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”

Young’s collapse occurred shortly after she withdrew from Audacy’s We Can Survive event in Newark, New Jersey, citing a “sensitive matter” related to her mental health.

Addressing the audience prior to her collapse at All Things Go NYC, Young shared her determination to perform despite her struggles, saying, “Today I woke up and I made the decision to come here. I wanted to perform, and I didn’t want to wallow in my sadness. Sometimes life can throw you lemons and you just gotta motherfucking make lemonade… I really appreciate everyone who’s here tonight.”

Following the incident, Young canceled her scheduled set at the All Things Go Music Festival in Washington, DC. She expressed her regret in another Instagram post, “I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this.”

In her announcement, Young requested understanding from her fans, writing, “I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.” Young had been touring in support of her recently released third album, ‘I’m Only Fucking Myself.’
