London’s Wide Awake festival has debuted a ‘Positive Policy’.
The event, which features a line-up including the likes of Metronomy, The Murder Capital an Dream Wife, is set to put in place a series of environmental measures including a cut down on waste, no single-use plastic and eco-toilets.
The list reads:
Bury zero waste in landfill
Leave no trace of litter
Ban single use plastic across the site
Only use compostable plastic and cutlery
Only provide ethically sourced food
Operate a cup deposit scheme that doesn’t rip fans off
Recycle all trader & back of house waste
Only permit biodegradable stage effects
Eco-toilets
HVO Fuel
There’ll also be a climate cafe, programmed alongside climate change publication It’s Freezing in LA!, who will host talks and workshops on site.
Wide Awake takes place in London’s Brockwell Park on 5th June.
