Luvcat has shared her new track 'Vampire At The Beach' from forthcoming EP 'Lovebites'
The murder ballads EP features collaborations with Pete Doherty and Dr John Cooper Clarke.

Liverpool-born artist Luvcat has announced a new EP, 'Lovebites', a collection of murder ballads arriving on 22nd May. Leading the release is new single 'Vampire At The Beach', which arrives with an accompanying music video blending gothic and vaudevillian imagery with modern aesthetics.
The track draws on a real relationship that inspired its darkly romantic narrative. Luvcat said: "I once had this ghostly looking lover who had this unsettling hold over me. I was almost waiting for him to bite my neck. He truly had me clamped between his teeth. We were watching a Fellini film and seeing all these golden bodies dripping with sweat on the silky rocks of an Italian beach. I was just thinking, I can't imagine being on a summer holiday with you. You're a vampire."
Serving as a companion piece to debut album 'Vicious Delicious', the EP brings together several notable collaborations. An anniversary version of 'He's My Man' features punk-poet Dr John Cooper Clarke, while a previously unheard track called 'Electric Chair' includes vocals from Pete Doherty. The collaboration with Doherty grew naturally during a European tour earlier this year, where Luvcat provided support and Doherty began joining her onstage nightly to contribute his own lyrics to the song's closing passage.
Among the other tracks on 'Lovebites' is 'Silent Killer', which takes its inspiration from a dangerous living situation in Camberwell. Recalling the experience, Luvcat said: "It nearly killed me and two of my bandmates. We'd had a bit of a wild night. Instead of staying up into the early hours like always, everyone had gone to sleep in a sort of delirious stupor. We had to drag each other out, already half-conscious thanks to the leaking boiler."
She added: "There was also black mould which was slowly secretly poisoning us all. The flat was magical at first but then I think it wanted us out. We were losing our minds a little. I was thinking about how the monoxide and mould could send you so mad that you do something really really bad."
Beyond the new release, Luvcat has upcoming dates supporting The Waterboys. Her 2025 schedule included over 101 live performances across more than 25 countries, with appearances at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Radio 1's Big Weekend, and Rock en Seine.
