Mac DeMarco has announced a new album of instrumental recordings, 'Five Easy Hot Dogs'

Mac DeMarco has announced a new album, 'Five Easy Hot Dogs'. The record is a collection of instrumental recordings that DeMarco made during his travels around North America, which began in January 2022.
DeMarco’s goal was to travel to different cities, recording and mixing songs in each one. He packed his guitars, bass, a drum kit, a couple of mics, and a TX7. “I tried to keep things busy all the time,” DeMarco said. “If I didn’t know what was up in a city, I’d just walk around ‘til someone recognized me and go from there. I met a lot of interesting people this way, and had a bunch of cool experiences.”
The tracklisting reflects the chronological order of the songs that were recorded and mixed. After a show in the Bay Area, DeMarco stayed in motels, hotels, and people’s houses, and his journey eventually led him to a cabin in Utah.
'Five Easy Hot Dogs' is set to be released on January 20th, 2021 as a CD/digital release, with a vinyl version to follow on 12th May 2021.
