M(h)aol have shared new single
'I Miss My Dog' ahead of their second album '
Something Soft', set for release on 16th May via Merge Records.
The Dublin, Belfast, and London-based group's new track arrives with a self-made video featuring crowd-sourced clips of fans' pets, serving as a tribute to both present and past animal companions.
'I Miss My Dog' draws from personal experience, as drummer
Constance Keane explains: "'I Miss My Dog' is a song about my dog Poppy, and the experience of losing a pet. She passed away in July last year, and I still sometimes wake up thinking she's with us. I think losing a dog is something that people either understand or they don't, and this is a song for those of us that do."
The new album was recorded at Dublin's Ailfionn Studio with Jamie Hyland, who previously worked on their debut album 'Attachment Styles' and 'Gender Studies' EP.
