MJ Lenderman has shared a new single, ‘Knockin’.
First appearing on a self-recorded EP before the release of last year’s ‘Boat Songs’ album, the updated version was recorded at Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville, North Carolina.
“I was spending a lot of time watching John Daly videos and came across a rendition he does of Dylan’s ‘Knockin on Heaven’s Door’,” he explains. “Daly’s version includes an extra version about golfing. My ‘Knockin’ became a staple of the MJ Lenderman & The Wind live set and it felt like a good idea to re-record it professionally.”
The track will appear on an upcoming 7″ single alongside previous single ‘Rudolph’. You can check out ‘Knockin’ below.
