Modern Woman have shared ‘Daniel’, a stripped-back track born by a North Wales lake
It's a sparse, personal cut from the band's One Little Independent Records debut.

London art-rock group Modern Woman have put out a new track, 'Daniel', lifted from their debut album 'Johnny's Dreamworld', which arrives on 1st May through One Little Independent Records.
Stripped back and intimate, the song was captured live with frontperson Sophie Harris on vocals and guitar alongside violinist David Denyer. It follows earlier album cuts 'Dashboard Mary' and 'Neptune Girl'.
Speaking about the track's origins, Harris said: "I wrote this in North Wales a long time ago. It's a simple song. I hope it captures some sort of spirit-feeling. I was camping near a lake we used to go to all the time as a kid when I wrote it."
On the sparse production approach, she added: "I really love David's violin on this, creating sounds like the tapping of rigging on boats etc. We kept the recording sparse."
Rounded out by Juan Brint-Gutiérrez on bass and saxophone and Adam Blackhurst on drums, Modern Woman worked with producer Joel Burton on the album.
