Muse have released new single
‘Hexagons’, the latest track to be lifted from their forthcoming album ‘The Wow! Signal’, which arrives on 26th June via Warner Records.
The song follows previous releases ‘Unravelling’, ‘Be With You’ and ‘Cryogen’, continuing the rollout for the band’s tenth studio album. Inspired by the unexplained radio signal detected in 1977, ‘The Wow! Signal’ explores themes including cosmic communication, technological anxiety and humanity’s search for meaning.
Ahead of the track’s release, Muse launched a global billboard campaign across cities including London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Mexico City and Sydney. Fans were directed to hidden billboard locations where codes unlocked fragments of the song, with listeners collectively piecing the track together online before the band officially released the full version.
Muse recently returned to the stage with a performance at London’s
O2 Academy Brixton ahead of a North American tour beginning this July. The run includes support from
Bloc Party and
The Temper Trap across much of July, before
Portugal. The Man and The Temper Trap join the tour for its August dates. The tour wraps up at Los Angeles’
Hollywood Bowl on 31st August.
