Nilüfer Yanya has put together a 'My Method Actor' remix EP featuring Boy Harsher, Empress Of and more
The EP features remixes by artists including Boy Harsher, Empress Of, and MorMor x Lesser.
Nilüfer Yanya is set to release a remix EP of her album 'My Method Actor'.
Due on 22nd November via Ninja Tune, the EP will feature remixes of tracks from the album, including 'Mutations', 'Call It Love', and two versions of 'Like I Say (I runaway)'.
The first remix from the EP, a reworking of 'Just A Western' by Boy Harsher, is out now. Other artists contributing remixes to the EP include Empress Of, MorMor x Lesser, and Jam City.
Yanya says of the project: "remixes are a beautiful thing! I find it an interesting challenge to hear the song back in a different way, always makes me feel at first totally confused and upside down but then I get into it and I'm like wow I could have never ever imagined it this way. Hearing something made out of your own music by an artist you're a genuine fan of is really special too and I feel like it opens your mind a bit about how you can treat your own music if you wanted to. As an artist who is not a producer it's also alot fun getting glimpses into these alternative universes."
Boy Harsher sadds: "'We tried to lean into a Chris Isaak situation here. Nilüfer's vocals are so smokey and cool, but with a hint of sadness and longing. It was a real pleasure to take this apart and put it back together."
