Olivia Dean has hit a streaming landmark, with '
Man I Need' crossing one billion plays on Spotify to earn a place in the platform's Billions Club playlist — the 1,255th track to do so.
It caps a staggering run of achievements for the British artist. At last October's Official Charts, Dean made history as the first female solo artist to hold four simultaneous top 10 singles in the UK, with 'Man I Need' sitting at No. 1 alongside '
The Art of Loving' cuts '
So Easy (To Fall in Love)' and '
Nice To Each Other', plus her Sam Fender collaboration '
Rein Me In' which currently occupies the chart topping slot.
Awards recognition has followed in abundance. Dean took home best new artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards, claimed four prizes at the 2026 BRITs — among them artist of the year and album of the year — and picked up three honours at the 2026 MOBO Awards. Spotify have also noted that she is the female artist with the largest year-on-year increase in global streams on their platform.
Across the world, the single has proved equally dominant. On the ARIA Chart in Australia, 'Man I Need' has logged 20 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1, placing it behind only Tones and I's 'Dance Monkey' as the longest-reigning single since the national charts launched in 1983.
Looking ahead, Dean is nominated twice at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards, taking place on 21st May in London, in the best album and The PRS for Music most performed work categories.
