Olivia Rodrigo has shared her thoughts on this year's
Coachella, singling out
Justin Bieber's headline slot as a particular highlight from the festival's second weekend.
Among the acts Rodrigo caught at the desert festival were Nine Inch Nails and David Byrne, but it was Bieber's Saturday night main-stage closer that left the biggest impression.
"I did see Bieber, it was so epic," she told host Bru during an Audacy Check In interview. "I loved it."
A standout moment for Rodrigo came when Bieber performed his debut single. "When he sang 'Baby,' I think I lost my mind," she continued. "I thought it was so beautiful the way he did it with the laptop, too. It almost felt like he was paying homage to his younger self, having his younger self on screen, seeing him in real life so happy. It was really powerful."
Bieber's performance saw him browse through YouTube clips of himself as a preteen while the audience watched on. Across the weekend, he also shared the stage with both Billie Eilish and SZA.
Rodrigo herself appeared at Coachella too, joining Addison Rae's set for a performance of '
Drop Dead', the lead single from her forthcoming album 'You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love'.
Speaking about Rae, Rodrigo had warm words for the performer. "I've known her [Rae] for so long," she said. "She has such a vision and is such like a positive, wonderful person and I'm just so happy she's having so much success."
On how the guest spot came together, Rodrigo explained: "We're friends. We text all the time, and I text her, and I was like, 'Maybe I could come out at Coachella. I feel like the song is so fun and free and very you.' And she was so stoked."
