Perrie has returned with a new single, ‘Passenger Princess’.
Released today, the track sees the former Little Mix star leaning further into the rock influences that have appeared throughout her solo material so far.
Originally released as a demo on the Digital Fan Deluxe edition of her debut album ‘Perrie.’, the newly recorded version arrives as a final chapter in that album campaign.
Described as a song about love, vulnerability and wanting someone else to take the weight off your shoulders, ‘Passenger Princess’ was inspired by the realities of balancing work, family life and motherhood.
“This song is written from a really honest place,” Perrie explains. “Sometimes you just want someone to hold it together for you for a minute! It's about letting yourself be looked after and not feeling guilty about it. I'm really excited to embrace an even rockier sound in my music. I see all the feedback from my fans and I know this is what they want!”
The release follows Perrie’s self-titled debut album, which reached Number 3 on the Official UK Albums Chart and featured her Top 10 solo breakthrough ‘Forget About Us’.
This weekend, Perrie is set to headline London’s Mighty Hoopla, before further festival appearances at Isle of Wight Festival, TRNSMT and The Big Feastival later this summer.
thistle.’s new EP 'backflip' is loud, messy, emotional and really very good. To celebrate its release, the Manchester band break down the whole thing track by track.
