Porridge Radio are calling it a day after one last EP

Porridge Radio announce their farewell EP ‘The Machine Starts To Sing’ alongside final tour dates and new single.

Porridge Radio have announced their final release, ‘The Machine Starts To Sing’ EP, set to arrive on 21st February via Secretly Canadian. Alongside the news, the band have shared a new track, ‘Don’t Want To Dance’.

The band have confirmed that this EP will mark their last release, with frontperson Dana Margolin stating: “This is the last new music from Porridge Radio and marks the end of the band. The songs on this EP are an important part of Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me, and mean a lot to us. We are excited for you to hear them. This band has been our life, we’re family now. These tours will be our last. Thanks so much for listening.”

The four-track EP was produced by Dom Monks, known for his work with Big Thief and Laura Marling, and was recorded during the sessions for their fourth album ‘Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me’.

The collection opens with ‘Machine Starts To Sing’, which Margolin describes as exploring “the idea of finding comfort in cold and dystopian places, finding reminders of life in moments of disconnection and alienation.”

The EP continues with ‘OK’, originally intended for a Margolin solo project, followed by new single ‘Don’t Want To Dance’, which addresses “persisting, choosing life, living and trying again.” The release concludes with ‘I’ve Got a Feeling (Stay Lucky)’.
