Alt-pop artist readies George Tavern debut with third single of the year.

ratbag has shared a new single called ‘drag’, alongside a video co-directed by the New Zealand artist and Jack Carden.
The track follows recent singles ‘how to cry’ and ‘halftime oranges’, and arrives ahead of ratbag’s debut London headline show at The George Tavern on Tuesday 26th May. Last week, she also performed the new material live during a standout set at The Great Escape.
‘drag’ sees ratbag explore feelings of exhaustion and disconnection, building around the feeling of struggling to move through everyday life at the same pace as everyone else.
Speaking about the track, she says: “sometimes i get to the end of a day and feel that i’ve dragged myself through. everybody around me seems to move at a regular speed, and though i still reach the same end points, i get there a lot slower. i’ve kinda always felt like a drag, to myself and others. so yeah, if this also sounds like you, i hope this song treats you well.”
Around her first UK appearances, ratbag has also been staging performance art pieces across London and Brighton, including appearances on public transport and Brighton Pier that blur the line between her music and wider visual world.
