Rocket unveil brand new single 'One Million' ahead of tours with Mannequin Pussy and Smashing Pumpkins
The track comes ahead of an extensive tour schedule, including festival appearances and support slots across three continents
Los Angeles quartet Rocket have shared new single 'One Million', their first release since signing to Transgressive Records / Canvasback.
The track, which opens with guitar leads before moving into harmony-laden verses and choruses, continues their exploration of '90s-influenced alt-rock and shoegaze sounds.
'One Million' is about wanting someone to meet you halfway but not knowing if they ever will, Rocket explain. "It's the feeling of doing everything you can, going above and beyond for someone, knowing that you would wait a million years for them just to notice how important they are to you. It's the hoping that maybe you are as important to them as well. It's learning to be okay with the fact that you might always love them more."
The band formed around vocalist/bassist Alithea Tuttle, who turned to music following a spinal injury that ended her dance career. Joining forces with guitarist Desi Scaglione, the pair were later completed by guitarist Baron Rinzler and drummer Cooper Ladomade. Their debut EP 'Versions of You' was self-recorded using a 1970s Yamaha PM-1000 mixer console found at a garage sale, with production handled by Scaglione.
