Rosalía will be honoured with the
International Songwriter of the Year prize when
The Ivors 2026 with Amazon Music takes place at
Grosvenor House in London on 21st May.
The accolade, handed out by The Ivors Academy, goes to an international writer whose songs have made a cultural and commercial mark on the UK across the past twelve months. It will be the Spanish artist's first Ivor Novello Award, presented at the 71st edition of the ceremony.
Last year saw the release of her album 'LUX', a thirteen-language project containing '
La Perla', '
Berghain', '
Reliquia' and '
Sexo, Violencia y Llantas'.
Speaking on the announcement, Roberto Neri, CEO of The Ivors Academy, said: "We are proud to celebrate ROSALÍA as International Songwriter of the Year. Her songwriting has captured the hearts and minds of audiences around the globe. With lyrics in over 13 languages, Rosalia has broken down barriers and borders, and I'm delighted she will be celebrated by our community and industry as she picks up her first Ivor Novello Award. This recognition reflects our growing global outlook and celebrates songwriters defining music and culture."

Running since 1956, The Ivors recognise the work of songwriters and screen composers. The roll call of previous winners stretches from Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr through to David Bowie, Adele, RAYE, Stormzy, Bill Withers, Bruce Springsteen, Brian Wilson, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave, Sting, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Charli xcx, Lana Del Rey, Lola Young, Lou Reed and Elton John.
Nominations for the 2026 ceremony were unveiled on 25th March, with winners due to be revealed on the night.
