Ruel has unveiled '
Hate Myself', his latest single, alongside an accompanying music video. The Australian singer-songwriter has also confirmed plans for a headline run across the UK and Europe this October.
Arriving as the second preview of 'Kicking My Feet & Screaming', the track follows on from 'Don't Say That'. The release represents the next chapter in Ruel's double-album project, building on 'Kicking My Feet (Part One)' with 10 additional tracks. Kenny Beats and Jackson Morgan co-wrote the single alongside Ruel.
Speaking about the origins of the song, Ruel said: "I wrote this one on the day I met Kenny and Jackson, and when you meet someone for the first time, you sort of try to focus on getting to know one another. After 5-6 hours in the studio, we had basically nothing but then Kenny threw a bit of a hail Mary, the three of us mixed ideas around, and next thing we knew we had the whole song in about 30 mins. Since then, every session I've had with Kenny has flowed so well and the two of us wrote a good chunk of the album Part 2 together!"
Among the wider roster of contributors to the album are Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, M-Phazes, Dan Wilson and Leroy Clampit. Pre-orders are open now, with streaming set to begin on 12th June.
Having recently completed the second leg of his North American Kicking My Feet Tour, Ruel also performed across South America earlier this year at the Lollapalooza festival circuit in Chile, Argentina and Brazil, along with the Estero Picnic Festival in Colombia. Sadie Jean will provide support on the Kicking & Screaming Tour. An artist presale opens on 28th April at 10 a.m. local time, while general tickets go on sale from 30th April at 10 a.m. local time.
