Shame are going to headline A Stone's Throw Festival in North Shields this May
A Stone's Throw Festival have announced the initial line-up for their 2025 edition, with Shame set to headline the North East's coastal music trail.
Taking place on 25th May across venues throughout North Shields, the event will also feature performances from Katy J Pearson, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Du Blonde, Man/Woman/Chainsaw and Swim Deep.
The festival's third instalment will transform various local venues including The Exchange 1856, King Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank and The Engine Room into performance spaces. A Stone's Throw are collaborating with Go North East to provide an open-top double-decker bus service between venues, included in the ticket price, with live brass bands performing on the upper deck.
The event is running in association with NS 800, a council-led scheme celebrating North Shields' 800th anniversary through a year-long calendar of events.
"Now in its third instalment, A Stone's Throw has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2022," says founder Anthony Thompson. "2025 will see the event hone in on North Shields as part of the town's 800th year celebrations and we're buzzing to be bringing such a high calibre set of acts to venues which typically find themselves under utilised. Seeing the local community support the event has been awesome but to shine a light on the local area, by welcoming international attendees has been immensely encouraging. We look forward to continuing the growth of the event in 2025!"
The full line-up announced so far includes Brògeal, ERNIE, Home Counties, Keyside, Lizzie Esau, Amelia Coburn, Callinsick, Cortney Dixon, False Heads, Humour, Look Terrified, Make Friends, Pearly Gates, Projector, Samxemma, Scustin, Slate, Sun King, The Manatees, Tigh Collar, and White Flowers, with more acts to be announced.
