Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced her eighth studio album
'Perimenopop', set for release on 12th September via Decca. The announcement arrives alongside new single
'Taste', a collaboration with
MNEK, and news of an album launch show at London's KOKO.
The new record follows 2023's '
HANA' and features previously released tracks '
Freedom of the Night', '
Relentless Love' and '
Vertigo'.
"With 'Taste', I collaborated with MNEK and Jon Shave to write a playful, flirtatious pop song about chemistry," Ellis-Bextor explains. "What can really make you want to be around someone is when their taste, what they like in life, is something you become addicted to. You want to experience all delights with them and share it with them as everything they introduce you to feels just right. All your senses feel alive and awake - like the full flavour of life is realised. Chef's kiss."
The album launch show at KOKO will take place on 8th September, with pre-sale tickets available to album pre-order customers from 14th May, followed by general sale on 16th May.
