St. Vincent and David Byrne swapped guest spots during their back-to-back closing sets at NOLA Jazz Fest

Talking Heads classics featured in surprise collaborations at Sunday's festival sets.

Scheduled to perform back-to-back closing sets on the Gentilly Stage at this year's NOLA Jazz Fest, St. Vincent and David Byrne took the opportunity to appear during each other's performances on Sunday evening.

During her set, Annie Clark invited Byrne on stage for a performance of Talking Heads track 'Wild Wild Life' — a song the two had previously played together on the road in 2013 while touring behind their joint record 'Love This Giant'. Later in the evening, Byrne returned the favour by welcoming Clark back to the stage for a rendition of another Talking Heads cut, 'Air'.

Both artists have extensive touring plans ahead. Byrne has confirmed a lengthy global run stretching from spring through to autumn 2026, taking in venues across North America, Europe and Asia. St. Vincent, meanwhile, continues to expand her orchestral tour, which sees her performing alongside a number of prestigious ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Pops Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony.
