Static Dress have launched a new free-to-play psychological horror game called ‘The Magistrate’s Loop’, expanding the fictional universe surrounding their forthcoming album ‘injury episode’.
The game arrives ahead of the Leeds band’s second album, due for release on 29th May via Sumerian Records. Alongside the launch, the band have also revealed the album’s full tracklisting after previously hiding it behind a coded message for fans to decode.
Designed as a short-form psychological horror experience, ‘The Magistrate’s Loop’ follows the atmosphere and repetition-driven tension of classic horror games while tying directly into the wider lore that runs throughout Static Dress’ music, visuals and previous game releases.
The band describe the project as “a fresh perspective inside that world, directly playable, and a continuation of the story leading into the opening chapter” of ‘injury episode’.
