Sugababes have unveiled the official video for their new single ‘Weeds’, released via their own label and distributed by The Orchard.
For the new single, Sugababes collaborated with producer Jon Shave, known for his Grammy-winning work on Charli XCX’s ‘BRAT’ album, alongside songwriters including Anya Jones.
“‘Weeds’ is about growth in all its forms,” Sugababes explain. “It’s about being seen, nurtured, and loved into who you’re meant to become. We wanted the video to reflect that—how something small and unexpected can break through, take up space, and turn into something beautiful.”
Director Gemma Yin says, “We set out to create a beautiful mixed media performance video with an ethereal quality, to complement the gorgeous single. As explored in the lyrics, we wanted to create the feeling of ‘harnessing the power of nature’ – carefully crafted visual effects bring an other-worldly and surreal quality to the performances.”
