A press release announcing the news also reveals “The 1975 are currently in the studio in England where they are writing, recording and mixing their forthcoming fifth studio album.”

Other acts playing Summer Sonic 2022 include Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Beabadoobee, Maneskin, Carly Rae Jepsen, St Vincent, Yungblud, Easy Life, Inhaler, Kacey Musgraves, Rina Sawayama, Squid and loads more.

Summer Sonic 2022 takes place at Tokyo’s Zozomarine Stadium & Makuhari Messe on 20th August, and Osaka Maishima Sonic Park on 21st August.
