The 1975 have announced their first live show in two years, headlining Japan’s Summer Sonic festival this August.
With the band, at the time of writing, currently on a social media hiatus after deleting their profiles and wiping their website yesterday (14th February), the news also comes with what appears to be the first photo of a new album campaign, which you can check out above.
A press release announcing the news also reveals “The 1975 are currently in the studio in England where they are writing, recording and mixing their forthcoming fifth studio album.”
Other acts playing Summer Sonic 2022 include Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Beabadoobee, Maneskin, Carly Rae Jepsen, St Vincent, Yungblud, Easy Life, Inhaler, Kacey Musgraves, Rina Sawayama, Squid and loads more.
Summer Sonic 2022 takes place at Tokyo’s Zozomarine Stadium & Makuhari Messe on 20th August, and Osaka Maishima Sonic Park on 21st August.
