Manchester up-and-comers The Guest List confront climate change with their new single ‘Weatherman’

Recent supports include major indie acts, with lyrics confronting the climate crisis.

The Guest List have released a new single, ‘Weatherman’, and announced a UK headline tour for November, including three nights at London’s Camden Assembly.

The track addresses climate crisis themes, as frontman Cai Alty explains: “I wrote the song as a reminder that this is not a so-called woke issue. It’s destroying homes and lives now, and will only get worse if we do not hold ourselves and our governments to account.”

Formed in 2021, the Manchester five-piece – Cai Alty (vocals/guitar), Tom Quigley (lead guitar), Leio Hunter (rhythm guitar), Sid Wallace (bass), and Angus Gilchrist (drums) – have recently supported Inhaler and Blossoms.

Discussing their identity, Alty says, “We have been brought up listening to Manchester bands, but we don’t want to be defined by that. We want to be seen as a band from Manchester, not just a Manchester band.”
