CHVRCHES’ Martin Doherty has teamed up with Jonny Scott for new project The Leaving

Martin Doherty of CHVRCHES and fellow musician Jonny Scott have revealed details of their collaborative project The Leaving, confirming that debut album 'Ultimate Buzz' will arrive on 24th April through Avenue A / Futures ✦ / Virgin Records.

Both Doherty and Scott are LA-based Glaswegian expats whose collective CV spans work as multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, and producers across bands including CHVRCHES, The Twilight Sad, Aerogramme, Mogwai and Idlewild. Their new venture together draws on a decades-long creative friendship.

Arriving alongside the album announcement is 'Fluoxetine', a new single that follows previous releases 'Pray' and 'Saved'. The track, written and produced by the pair, grapples with themes of grief, belief, loss, and the desire to shoulder another person's pain.

'Ultimate Buzz' features nine tracks in total. The full tracklisting runs as follows: 'Atmosphere', 'Fluoxetine', 'Pray', 'Speak', 'Sing', 'Saved', 'Cursed', 'Creatures' and 'Ddust'. Debut live performances from The Leaving are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
