The National are teasing something new for later this week

The wait could be over for fans of The National, as the band is teasing an announcement this Friday.
The band has been mailing out teasers to members of their Cherry Tree fan community featuring the words "Tranquilize the Mind" and the date of this Friday, January 13th.

The National have been hinting at a new album for a while, with the band confirming last summer that they were "close to finishing" a new album. Since then, the band has released the single 'Weird Goodbyes', featuring Bon Iver, as well as playing new material during live shows.
The band's last album was 2019's I Am Easy to Find. The National's Dessner brothers, Bryce and Aaron, will both appear on the debut album by Complete Mountain Almanac.
