If the 'Music For Cars' era ran on hype, we'd be able to get to the moon and back.

Another day, another slice of hype about The 1975. It's what we do best, right?

To catch up on recent 'events' - over the weekend, cryptic posters began appearing in London and Manchester, teasing the band's third album 'Music For Cars'. On Sunday night, that was followed up by a social media post of a more complete effort, 'A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships', featuring what could well be lyrics.

Then, at midnight, the band wiped their social accounts. Just as they did in the run up to 'I like it when you sleep...', we all know what that means.

And so, we get into the theoretical space where the most interesting bands thrive. As fans delve far deeper than seems strictly intended into what their heroes are up to, some interesting observations can appear.

One such suggestion relates to protests in Paris back in 1968 - fifty years ago. One fan pointed this out on Twitter, and had their theory 'liked' by frontman Matty Healy. Ooo-errr.

It's not a link pulled out of nowhere, either. Those posters featured a line - 'First, disobey; then look at your phones' - which thematically matches up to protest messages from those 1968 revolts.

Those protests ran from May 2nd until 3rd June. May 2nd, as you may note, is tomorrow.
