The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have revealed their shortlists for the 2025 Oscars' Best Original Song and Best Original Score categories.

Among the 15 songs progressing in the Best Original Song category are submissions from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross with 'Compress/Repress' from 'Challengers'. The pair also feature in the Best Original Score shortlist for the same film.
Actor Saoirse Ronan receives her first musical recognition for 'Winter Coat' from 'Blitz', while Irish hip-hop group Kneecap are shortlisted for 'Sick In The Head' from their self-titled film. The shortlist also includes entries from Lin-Manuel Miranda, Pharrell Williams, Elton John with Brandi Carlile, and Barlow & Bear.
