Isle of Wight trio ugly ozo have dropped 'MISERY', rounding off the previews ahead of their 'dive' EP, which lands this Friday through REX RECS.

Written and recorded at REX Studio - the creative hub run by label founder and producer Macks Faulkron - the EP also features previously shared tracks 'hi, how are you?', 'overkill' and 'jackpot'. The project centres around Jessica Baker's songwriting, with her sister Boo Baker handling bass duties and Tristan Northard behind the drums.

On the new track, Jessica explained: "'MISERY' felt like the perfect curtain call to end the EP. It's like a big cheerleader confessional, where you're pretending everything's fine even though you're actually having a really bad time. Lyrically it's a heavy nod to everything I don't like about myself and all my weaknesses, including being a people pleaser, which is something I don't like in other people even though I'm a sucker for it myself. It's a really honest take on that, and not something I would reveal out loud to anyone, but it's on the EP now so I guess it's too late."

Alongside festival slots at Gold Sounds, The Great Escape and Dot to Dot, ugly ozo will head out on the road with label-mates thistle. during May before joining CQ Wrestling for further touring.
