Artists: Wax Works

Rising Leeds indie-popster wax works – aka Adam Levey – has shared his first new single of 2022, ‘why you so sad?’.

Following up on last year’s ‘know no better’, he explains: “This track is about self-reflection. It’s a song that picks on myself for being too pessimistic and for focusing on the bad and not the good – the inspiration was to create something different to anything I’ve ever made, both sonically and lyrically. The process started with the guitar chord sequence heard in the intro. I wanted the song to almost sound nursery-rhyme like, to reflect the child-like complaining of mine that the song focuses on.”

The first taster of a forthcoming EP, set to arrive later this year, you can check out ‘why you so sad?’ below.
