During an intimate Irish show, Wolf Alice debuted two songs from their upcoming album 'The Clearing', including the unreleased 'Thorns'.
Wolf Alice have performed two new songs during their intimate show in Kilkenny, including their latest single 'Bloom Baby Bloom' and unreleased track 'Thorns'.
The London band are currently playing warm-up shows in Ireland ahead of their festival appearances at Glastonbury, Primavera Sound and One Big Weekend. The performance marked the live debut of both tracks from their forthcoming album 'The Clearing', which will arrive via Sony.
'Thorns' showcases a slower pace compared to 'Bloom Baby Bloom', featuring Ellie Rowsell's vocals set against a waltz-like instrumental arrangement.
The band's guitarist Joff Oddie recently spoke at a government hearing regarding UK grassroots music venues, reflecting on the band's early career. "I'm not sure how Wolf Alice would make it work today," he said. "For years, it was a loss-leader – and that's typically how it goes. We would sleep on people's floors when we were outside of London. Most of the people we worked with were doing stuff pro-bono in the hope that if we did start making money later on, then we could commission management, agents, soundmen. I put my student loan into financing a tour."
