Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke on November 21, 1992, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He initially studied business administration at Oakwood University before leaving to focus on music production and vocal recording. Davido was a member of the group KB International. He gained prominence with the release of the single 'Dami Duro' from his debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, in 2012. The album produced six additional singles, including 'Back When' and 'Gbon Gbon.' In 2012, he received the Next Rated award at The Headies. Between 2013 and 2015, he released multiple singles such as 'Gobe,' 'Skelewu,' and 'Aye.' In January 2016, Davido announced that he had signed a record deal with Sony Music. Later that year, he established the record label Davido Music Worldwide, which has signed artists including Morravey and Logos Olori.
