About Florence + The Machine
Florence + The Machine is an English indie rock band formed in London in 2007. The group was founded by lead vocalist Florence Welch, along with keyboardist Isabella Summers, guitarist Rob Ackroyd, drummer Christopher Lloyd Hayden, and harpist Tom Monger. Their music features dramatic, eccentric productions and Welch's powerful vocals. The band's sound has been described as a combination of various genres, including alternative rock, baroque pop, and soul. Their debut album, Lungs, was released on 3 July 2009 and reached the number two position on the UK Albums Chart, remaining in the top forty for sixty-five consecutive weeks. It was one of the best-selling albums of 2009 and 2010. Their second album, Ceremonials, was released in October 2011 and entered the UK charts at number one and the US charts at number six. The third album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, was released on 2 June 2015, topping the UK charts and debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200.
Brand-new purpose-built dance stage The Warehouse is also confirmed for the festival.
