About Jade Bird
Jade Elizabeth Bird, born on 1 October 1997, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Her music has been influenced by folk and Americana artists, and media descriptions have drawn comparisons with pop, Americana, country, and folk rock. Bird spent her childhood in Hexham, London, Germany, and Bridgend, South Wales. She began writing songs while living with her mother in Bridgend after her parents' separation. During her final year at BRIT School, she recorded a demo that led to a management deal and subsequently signed with Glassnote Records. In 2017, she released her first extended play, 'Something American,' which received positive reviews. She was also listed in the BBC Sound of 2018 at the end of that year. In 2018, Bird released the song 'Lottery,' which topped the Adult Alternative Songs chart, making her the fifth female solo artist to achieve this since 2010. Her self-titled debut studio album was released in 2019 and was met with largely positive critical reception.
