Joe Jackson, born David Ian Jackson on 11 August 1954, is a British musician, singer, and songwriter. He spent years studying music and performing in clubs before achieving early success with the singles 'Is She Really Going Out with Him?' and 'It's Different for Girls.' Jackson later transitioned to jazz-influenced pop music, attaining a worldwide hit with 'Steppin' Out.' He is associated with the 1980s Second British Invasion of the United States. In addition to his popular music career, Jackson has composed classical music. He has released 21 studio albums and received five Grammy Award nominations.
