About Red Velvet
Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group formed and managed by SM Entertainment. The group debuted on August 1, 2014, with the single 'Happiness' and initially consisted of four members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy. Yeri joined the group in March 2015 following the release of their first extended play, Ice Cream Cake. Their music reflects the group's name, with a "red" side that experiments with electronic and funk elements and a "velvet" side that emphasizes '90s-influenced R&B, ballads, and hip hop. Red Velvet's Korean discography includes three studio albums, one reissue album, one compilation album, and thirteen extended plays, all of which have topped the South Korean Circle Album Chart. Their singles 'Red Flavor' and 'Power Up' reached number one on the Gaon Digital Chart, while other singles such as 'Dumb Dumb', 'Russian Roulette', 'Rookie', 'Peek-a-Boo', 'Bad Boy', 'Psycho', and 'Feel My Rhythm' achieved top-three positions. The group has also expanded into the Japanese music market with extended plays #Cookie Jar (2018) and Sappy (2019), as well as the studio album Bloom (2022).
SM Entertainment has revealed an extensive 2025 lineup including releases from aespa, Kai, Red Velvet sub-unit Irene & Seulgi and other artists across Q1-Q2.
