Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and rapper born on 1 May 2000. He gained recognition with his 2019 song 'Dumebi' and signed with D'Prince's record label, Jonzing World, the same year. Rema achieved international recognition with his 2022 single 'Calm Down,' which was remixed with American singer Selena Gomez and peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also led the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart for a record 58 weeks. In 2022, he released his debut studio album, Rave & Roses, which reached number 81 on the Billboard 200. His second album, Heis, was released in 2024, featuring the single 'Benin Boys' with Shallipopi, and earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Global Music Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
