Robyn Miriam Carlsson, known professionally as Robyn, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, record producer, and DJ born on 12 June 1979. She is recognized for performing upbeat dance-oriented songs that often feature melancholic lyrics. Her debut album, Robyn Is Here, released in 1995, produced two top-10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "Do You Know (What It Takes)" and "Show Me Love." Her subsequent albums, My Truth (1999) and Don't Stop the Music (2002), were released in Sweden. After establishing her own label, Konichiwa Records, and pursuing an independent career, she achieved international success with her fourth album, Robyn (2005), which earned a Grammy Award nomination and included the singles "Be Mine!" and "With Every Heartbeat," the latter reaching the top of the charts in the United Kingdom. In 2010, Robyn released a trilogy of mini-albums culminating in her seventh studio album, Body Talk, which received critical acclaim, garnered three Grammy nominations, and produced three top-10 singles: "Dancing On My Own," "Hang with Me," and "Indestructible."
