About The 1975
The 1975 are an English pop rock band formed in Wilmslow, Cheshire in 2002. The band members are Matty Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, primary songwriter), Adam Hann (lead guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass), and George Daniel (drums, primary producer). The band's name was inspired by a page of scribblings found in Healy's preowned copy of On the Road by Jack Kerouac, which was dated "1 June, The 1975." The members met in secondary school and performed together as teenagers before releasing music professionally in 2012 under the independent label Dirty Hit. Between 2012 and 2013, they opened for several major acts and released a series of extended plays, including Facedown, Sex, Music for Cars, and IV. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2013 and reached number one in the United Kingdom; it included singles such as "Sex," "Chocolate," and "Robbers." All of their albums have charted at number one in the UK and appeared on the Billboard 200, receiving critical praise and appearing in various year-end and decade-end lists. Their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, was released in 2016 and also reached number one.
It's the second offering from her debut EP, co-produced with Adam Hann.
