About The Libertines
The Libertines are an English rock band formed in London in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barât and Pete Doherty. The band’s core lineup included John Hassall on bass and Gary Powell on drums for most of its recording career. They were part of the garage rock revival and played a significant role in the movement in the UK. The band gained notoriety in the early 2000s due to Doherty's use of illegal drugs and conflicts between the band members. Their mainstream success was initially limited but increased over time, resulting in a No. 2 single and a No. 1 album on the UK Charts. Their self-titled second studio album, released in December 2004, was voted the second-best album of the year by NME magazine. Mick Jones, co-founder of The Clash, produced their first two studio albums. Despite their critical and commercial achievements, the band’s activities were often overshadowed by internal conflicts related to Doherty's addictions to crack cocaine and heroin, which eventually led to the band's breakup.
Big Special, Warmduscher, Gans and Pregoblin confirmed as support for Bank Holiday show.
