About This Track
'Lenin' by Arcade Fire is a 2009 track from the album 'Dark Was the Night'. The lyrics look at a mythic, childhood-to-adulthood arc for Lenin, with birds in the forest singing approvingly, while later sailors in heaven call for escape. A concerned refrain insists, “it can’t be right”, yet the response is to smile instead, leaving the song balancing dread with a stubborn kind of composure.
"Lenin" is a track by Arcade Fire, from the album Dark Was the Night, released 19th February 2009. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about Arcade Fire.
