Arlie woke up in a white room

The air smelled of rubbing alchohol and cafeteria pizza

The lights buzzed like hundreds of trapped insects behind the glass panes

His body felt like a jacket custom tailored for an elf

He rolled over

He felt strangely calm in spite of all of this, but something was off

The air molecules were not their usual shades of silver

The voices of people outside the door were blatantly out of sync with the rhythm of the cosmos

Yes, something was definitely off
