About This Track

'Starvation' opens with a catalogue of absence: the touch of skin, the rush of inner beauty, the simple comfort of human contact. Aurora moves quickly into the song's central paradox, asking why we must suffer before we can see clearly, why we reach for harm when what we truly want is to feel alive. The track builds around this hunger, both literal and metaphorical, a soul emptied by disconnection and the slow erosion of meaning in an increasingly virtual world. The song's architecture mirrors its subject. Verses pile questions upon questions, each one sharpening the ache, whilst the chorus returns again and again to that single word: starving. Aurora's voice carries a kind of exhausted clarity, neither pleading nor resigned, simply stating the condition. By the final repetition, the lyrics have narrowed to their essence: we are decorated bones, and the souls are starving. It is a bleak image, but one delivered with precision rather than despair.
