Why are we so obsessed with an eye for an eye?

A reason to be vindictive that’s justified

Getting even disguised as seeking justice

Apathy’s a result of failed due process

Forced to accept these transgressions only imply

There’s no regard for innocent lives

What’s with all of this vengeance?

It drives us all out of our minds

Where’s the room for forgiveness

When we’rе trying to survive?

The only way to fight forward is with empathy

Not consuming our hеarts with antipathy

When will we learn that revenge is not the answer?

What will it take to grow from all of the past mistakes

And be free from animosity?
