'Bogusflow' by Beck is a 1994 track on 'DGC Rarities Volume 1'. The lyrics hit a grotesque, anarchic collage of imagery, with punchy commands and escalation towards a sense of being precariously close to disaster, as in the line, ‘Monkey see, monkey die’. There is a coldly amused intensity to the wording, driven by abrupt imperatives and surreal comparisons, from the fixation on physical destruction to the insistence on what gets “pasted up into the sky”. The voice sounds uptight and exhilarated at once, blurring menace and comic contempt.
"Bogusflow" is a track by Beck, from the album DGC Rarities Volume 1, released 5th July 1994. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 8 articles about Beck.

More from Beck

The Strokes will headline the inaugural Sydney Summertime concert at Centennial Park, joined by Beck, Courtney Barnett and Promiseland.

The Strokes will play Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in February 2027, with Courtney Barnett, Promiseland and Beck joining selected dates.

Start with the 2024 ‘Baggy$$’ EP, then trace Fcukers’ first singles back to ‘Mothers’.

Beck’s orchestral return makes heartache inviting without smoothing it away, though the songs sometimes settle for a beauty the arrangements work harder to achieve.

Beck’s new ‘Run Away’ video stars Tadanobu Asano and arrives alongside his newly released album ‘Ride Lonesome’.

Beck’s 15th studio album reunites him with collaborators from ‘Sea Change’, ‘Morning Phase’ and ‘Mutations’.
