Beck and Sierra Ferrell have teamed up for a new version of 'Ride Lonesome'
Duet version arrives as Beck prepares to launch his North American tour run.
About This Track
Beck's breakthrough single arrived in 1994 after an independent release caught unexpected attention, eventually peaking at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the chart in Norway. The track's hybrid of slacker-rock guitar, hip-hop beats and folk-blues drawl established a template for the lo-fi eclecticism that would define much of the decade's alternative music, whilst its self-deprecating Spanish refrain became an unlikely anthem for a generation suspicious of earnestness.
The lyrics pile up surreal Americana in rapid succession: chimpanzees and butane, plastic eyeballs and spray-painted vegetables, a shotgun wedding and a stain on a shirt. Beck adopts a posture of resigned defiance, the chorus framing failure as both punchline and badge of honour. The song's deliberately anti-commercial aesthetic, pieced together from home-recorded tapes on a low budget, became an unexpected commercial success, helping push the parent album 'Mellow Gold' to platinum certification.
"Loser" is a single by Beck, from the album Mellow Gold, released 1st March 1994. The track is 3:55 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 8 articles about Beck.

Duet version arrives as Beck prepares to launch his North American tour run.

The Nigel Godrich-mixed single precedes extensive theatre and amphitheatre run this autumn.

The song was previously played at his intimate performance at Lafayette in London last September.

'We Love L.A.' features an impressive lineup of guests including Judd Apatow, Pink, Inara George, Beck, Grohl’s daughter Violet, Karen O, and Tenacious D.

Grohl shared via Foo Fighters' social media accounts that "it's a little known fact that our favorite Guero actually has Jewish roots".
Beck sounds as vital and important as ever.
