About This Track
'Verandi' by Björk is a 2001 track from the album 'Hidden Place (CD1)'. The lyrics are presented in Icelandic and build a still, intimate erotic picture of a body held in close attention, with lines that linger on touch, breath, gaze and desire. A repeated command of quiet, “Kyrr!”, frames the writing as if the speaker is trying to keep everything hushed and contained, even as the language turns increasingly charged. The effect is a mix of restraint and insistence, as if the poem is both asking for calm and revelling in what stillness reveals.
"Verandi" is a track by Björk, from the album Hidden Place (CD1), released 6th August 2001. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 4 articles about Björk.
