About This Track

'Atom Bomb' by Bully is a 2024 track about self-reproach and stubborn grief, with a narrator who feels unchanged but older, trapped in shame, and trying to hold back what they cannot bear to say. The lyrics frame relationships as something that still holds their identity, even after the other person has gone, before turning that ache into an image of danger and delay, with the line “waiting to be lit”. It moves in a tight, confessional rhythm, where resignation keeps getting interrupted by defensive coping, like biting the tongue and refusing to give in.
