About This Track
Chief Keef built 'Ain't Missing You' around an interpolation of a 1984 pop standard, but the track's weight comes from its subject. The song is a tribute to his late cousin Mario "Big Glo" Hess, who was murdered in Chicago in April 2014. Over a sample of that earlier hit, Chief Keef moves between reflection and defiance, recalling shared history with his cousin and the trajectory from street life to commercial success, all whilst processing grief that sits just beneath the surface. The chorus, sung by Jenn Em, carries the song's central paradox: a declaration of moving on that the outro immediately contradicts. Chief Keef's verses are conversational and specific, naming the places and moments that mattered, the first deals, the cars, the parties. By the end, the posture of indifference collapses. He closes with a simple acknowledgment: "Just know this, I miss you Big Glo." It is a small admission that undoes everything that came before it.
"Ain't Missing You" is a track by Chief Keef, from the album Bang 3, released 3rd July 2015. Full lyrics are available below.
